Guided by dedicated tutors, Literacy Waitākere offers adult learners the opportunity to write their own life story, and become published authors in the process! 

An ongoing project, our learners have authored a range of unique student-led books covering a variety of topics and subjects, from triumph over adversity to chill slices of life – and everything in between. 

By finding, writing and sharing the stories only they can tell, our learners grow not only their confidence and ability, but pay it forward to future educators and learners. Each text serves as a teaching and learning resource and is mapped to the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) reading progressions.
