Supporting One Another
A successful organisation is about people at its heart, who live and own their values. Here at Literacy Waitākere, our kaupapa is one of reciprocity, and it shows – not only in the progress of our valued learners, but in the lasting connections made possible through learning together.
In the past 40 years, we have helped around 22,000 people gain literacy and numeracy: providing support, community and opportunity to those who might have otherwise fallen through the institutional cracks.
But we couldn't do it without funding and support from a number of valued and loyal organisations.
Partnerships
Literacy Waitākere is proud to be supported through a range of funding partnerships that make our work possible.
We currently receive funding from the Tertiary Education Commission for Adult Community Education in Communities (ACE), and from the Ministry of Social Development to support learners with identified special needs.
Additional support comes from The Ministry for Ethnic Communites, The Trusts Community Foundation, The Lotteries Board, Foundation North, Whau, Henderson-Massey and Waitākere Ranges Local Boards.
Our supporters include Waiheke Island Adult Learning, Whanganui Adult Learning, Rutherford Community Education, English Language Partners, Belong Aotearoa, Auckland Council Libraries, plus many more organisations that are generous with sharing time and knowledge.
We sincerely thank these organisations for their generous support. Their contributions enable Literacy Waitākere to continue delivering high-quality, accessible literacy education in our community.
